Hattie Beal and Lochranza of Langley

Hattie Beal aged 15 from Quarnford, who we have already posted to the page and website has qualified with her highland pony Lochranza of Langley, known as Razz at home, for the Royal International Horse Show.

Hattie qualified in the ponies UK intermediate Ride at Uttoxeter after winning a very strong class.

At the Staffordshire County Show, Hattie earned herself another Royal International Ticket this time in the Ponies UK Amateur Rider class.

The pair were also second in the ponies UK Large Breeds class which is for riders aged 18 and under.

To culminate their day at Stafford Hattie and Razz then went to become overall champions of their section.

Hattie, a pupil at Buxton Community school, works hard and takes sole care of Razz at her home near Flash. She said “It is very hard to maintain Razz’s fitness and condition due to school work and the weather isn’t always kind to us up here, but I wouldn’t change any of it.

“ I love where I live and I am extremely lucky to have this amazing pony.
“He means the world to me.
“Achieving this part of my dream has only been possible with the support of all my family, my trainer Julie Judge, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council who provide me with a sports grant, and of course Razz”

Hattie is now chasing a tickets to the Horse of the Year Show, which is even harder for her as she will be competing against professionals and is also one of the youngest competing in her class.

Last year Hattie was supreme champion at Leek Show.
She was also second at Bakewell Show and Champion at Caverswall Riding Club event last year,

In March this year Hattie took a first, second and Reserve Champion at the Adlington Breed Show.
